Almond Resorts’ 2007 investment and expansion programme

In just 18 months, Almond Resorts, operator of four-star premium all-inclusive hotels in the Caribbean, has increased its hotel portfolio from two to five properties, with hotels located on both Barbados and St Lucia.
Almond Smugglers Cove, the group’s newest St Lucia hotel and the second Almond Resorts property on the island, is undergoing major refurbishment and upgrade works and will open on 1 February 2007. Almond Resorts’ new Barbados property, Almond Casuarina Beach Resort, situated on the south coast of the island, is also undergoing refurbishment and construction, and is on schedule to open on 15 March 2007.
Almond Morgan Bay, which opened on St Lucia in November 2005, is currently undergoing an expansion in preparation for the 2007 Cricket World Cup in March. The expansion programme sees the construction of 100 extra rooms including 68 oceanview suites, Tommy’s Rum Shop bar, a spa, and a new swimming pool located in the hills overlooking the bay.
The group has also been carrying out expansion work at its existing properties. Work is underway at Almond Resorts’ flagship property Almond Beach Village on Barbados, on the refurbishment and facility upgrade of the hotel’s Conference Centre, including increasing the Centre’s capacity by a further 100 seats. Large and small groups alike can combine work and play at Almond Beach Village, with up to the minute AV technology, business facilities and a range of leisure activities that is second-to-none.
Refurbishment of the Almond Beach Club’s Spa has now been completed. This spa has an exclusive yet relaxed feel, similar to the hotel and has specialised treatments such as an Island Waters area with treatments available under a Vichy shower rain, hydrotherapy baths, Thalasso therapy with sea stone massages and warm sea stone facials, and side-by-side massages for couples.
