Barbados (Winter/Spring 2006) -- At Almond Resorts, fun for the whole family is an everyday occurrence with the all-inclusive resorts’ spectacular Kids Club. The spacious kids-only activity and play center is the hub of excitement for children of all ages. With an experienced staff and four age-specific programs jam-packed with outrageous activities, there is something for every kid to enjoy, from babies and big kids to toddlers and teens.
It’s not just kids who fall in love with the Kids Clubs at Almond Beach Village, Barbados, and Almond Morgan Bay, St. Lucia. With dozens of daily events, games and a full schedule of activities to keep the kids busy, as well as a full service nursery for infants, parents love the well-earned free time that they are able to share with each other too.
The Kids Club offers four specially designed age-appropriate programs as follows:- Nursery for infants ages 0 to 24 months
- Mini Kids Club for children ages 2 to 4 years
- Kids Club for children ages 5 to 7 years and 8 to 12 years
- Teen Center for teens 13 and over
For children, sometimes the hardest part about a vacation is the worry that they won’t find a friend to play with. That’s hardly the case at Almond Resorts. Every day is an adventure at the Kids Club and Mini Kids Club Center, which is full of fun and friends. Some of the many activities at the center include face painting, nature walks, story telling, tennis and golf clinics, jewelry making, cooking classes, tie-dyeing, beach cricket, volleyball, beach and pool activities, art classes, hair braiding, lessons in Calypso and Reggae dancing, movies, computers, video games, music, treasure hunts and much, much more. The Kids Club also has three family swimming pools and two separate playgrounds.
All teens want these days is a little independence and a chance to spend some time away from their parents. The Teen Club at Almond Resorts is hip way for teens to meet and get together. With disco nights, water sports, computers, movie nights and more, teens get the opportunity to have a little almost grown-up fun with people their own age.
The Nursery is a warm and wonderful way for parents to leave their babies in very good hands while they explore all the resorts have to offer. With a charming and qualified staff, and fully equipped nursery, parents can rest assured that their baby is in the best of care.
At Almond Beach Village and Almond Morgan Bay, the Kids Club Center is a dedicated building located on the resorts’ extensive grounds and it serves as the headquarters for all four Kids Club programs. The Kids Club and Teen Club are open daily from 9am – 10pm. The Nursery and Mini Kids Club are open daily from 9am – 5pm. Private babysitting services are available after 5pm for an additional charge.
In December 2005, Almond Beach Village was selected by Child Magazine as one of the Top Ten Family-Friendly Resorts in the Caribbean. The resort gleaned high marks and was one of two hotels topping the list of outstanding properties. The pioneering study by Child Magazine, is a data-driven survey developed with the assistance of a panel of well-respected family travel experts, specifically aimed at examining the quality of the children’s programs developed by each property, the staffing and safety factors, the quality, quantity and range of the available activities, the variety and nutritional soundness of menus, the availability of in-room options like full-size cribs and refrigerators, the scope of on-site medical care and issues relating to the number of security personnel on duty. Room rates were evaluated in relation to the number of family activities and the style of accommodations. The 122-question survey delved into details of the entire vacation experience and the ratings were awarded strictly on the basis of scores earned by the resorts under review.
The Kids Club isn’t the only way that families fit right in at Almond Resorts. Great facilities like super suites with spacious accommodations for families with children and kid-friendly food like hot dogs and French fries for finicky eaters and little luxuries like self serve ice cream make kids feel right at home at Almond Resorts.
Parents know that children need more than beautiful beaches and room service when it comes to vacationing. While the ideal adult getaway might include a poolside lounge chair and a good book, for the young ones it is hardly exciting.
