St. Peters, Barbados (Winter/Spring 2006)--- Leave all your cares behind as you unwind and slowly awake to the restful, nurturing surroundings at an Almond Spa. Almond oils, aromatic herbs and natural island flora combine to give you luxurious pampering treatments at Almond Resorts’ new, Caribbean-inspired spas.
Taking their cue from the wisdom of ancient civilizations, Almond Resorts, named for the tree which symbolizes happiness, good health, romance, fertility and good fortune, are introducing their very own line of signature spas with nurturing, sense-enhancing, comforting treatments which go beyond the usual Caribbean spa services. The first Almond Spa was recently launched at the Almond Beach Club in Barbados. Here, the Almond Spa, with its elegant, clubby feeling reflects the resort’s unique setting, exclusive yet relaxed, letting the peaceful beauty of the outdoors, in. The Island Waters area, with inviting Vichy showers and intoxicating hydrotherapy baths offer choices beyond the expected spa services like massages, facials, body, hair and nail treatments. Signature services special to the Almond Beach Club Spa include Thalasso therapy with sea stone massages and warm sea stone facials, and side-by-side massages for couples.
“While the Almond Spa is designed for our vacationing guests, we also extend the services to local clients,” says Ralph Taylor, Chairman and Managing Director of Almond Resorts. “The Almond Spas are a unique brand which we have specially designed to fit the Caribbean vacation experience, and to complete the rest and relaxation cycle that people so crave during these stressful times. Our Almond line of in-room products is also created with that same goal in mind and will become an essential part of our resort amenities.”
A relaxation lounge within the Almond Spa offers elixir teas and tonics with mouth-watering spreads of tropical fruits and juices. All of the menus at Almond Resorts restaurants offer healthy options and include local “good for you” items with native fruits, flowers and plants. Each of the Almond Resorts properties offer spa services, in settings uniquely designed to suit the resort and its surroundings, offering a selection of Caribbean spa treatments and a full line of spa services. The spas feature Almond Spas brand products, created with every need of the client in mind.
Almond Beach Village, Barbados, spa clients are welcomed at the sister property, Almond Beach Club, only 15 minutes away, while the resort readies its own spa center. Almond Beach Village is located on a sugar plantation of a bygone era; the Spa décor will be reminiscent of the old wealthy sugar plantations, with custom-designed stone and iron work. Signature services, special to the Almond Spa here, will include vanilla rum sugar scrubs, and more.
Almond Casuarina Resort, Barbados, (scheduled to open end-2006) will feature a lush, tropical-looking Almond Spa with a coconuts and casuarinas motif. Signature services will be tailored to the spa’s unique setting.
Almond Morgan Bay, the resort chain’s newest property, was launched in November 2005 and offers spa services in its treatment rooms while the full service spa is being readied for a Fall 2006 opening.
