Is there a dress code at Almond Resorts?
The tropical climate and relaxed atmosphere of Barbados lend themselves nicely to casual attire. Shoes must be worn, bathing suits must be covered and men are required to wear shirts with sleeves in all restaurants. After 6 pm, nice casual attire is suggested (no shorts or shorts ensembles).
What currency is accepted at the Almond Resorts properties?
Legal tender in Barbados is the Barbados Dollar, with a current exchange rate of about $2 BD to US $1. Credit cards, travelers cheques and US currency are accepted virtually everywhere on the island.
Do I need a special adapter for the electrical outlets in my room?
Electric current is the same as in the US, so no special adapters are needed. The electricity in Barbados is 110 voltage and in St. Lucia is 110 and 220 voltage.
What are the entry requirements to Barbados and St. Lucia?
Entry requirement to Barbados and St. Lucia vary by citizenship. Please check with your appropriate State Department prior to travel to ensure you have proper documentation. US citizens are required to present a valid passport and return airline ticket prior to departure and entry. Upon leaving, a per person departure tax is payable at the airport.
Does Barbados and St. Lucia participate in Daylight Savings Time?
Barbados and St. Lucia are in the Atlantic Time Zone, but do not observe Daylight Savings Time. Throughout the winter months, we are one hour later than US Eastern Standard Time, while in the summer we are on the same time as Eastern Daylight Time.
